Autobiography

Recently, i am preparing autobiography to submit to Czech Technical University. Since i am totally looking forward to study abroad in the next semester, I have the passion to prepare all the documents. I also spend a large amount of time preparing autobiography, so I would like to share with you my works.

My Life Begins – Introduction
I was born on the 12th of December, 1988, in Kaohsiung city. My parents named me Yen Li-Yuan, and Lillian is my English name. There are five members in my family. I am the oldest and I have two sisters. My mom and dad pay a lot of attention to our education. They encourage me to develop my talents also to learn many useful skills, so I have lots of interests and I'm enthusiastic to learn new things. I’m now a student in Chung Hsing University and I double major in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and the Department of Chinese Literature. Since I entered this university, I have persisted in my studies in order to achieve good results. While it wasn’t easy to be the best in my class, I pushed myself hard to keep up a good job. In addition to academic learning, I also get a part-time job as a tutor every semester. By teaching Chinese composition and basic English, I can learn more about communicating with different kinds of people as well as strengthen my social skills. Furthermore, I can express my thoughts with a clear presentation. Interested in learning languages, I would like to become an interpreter or a translator in my future. Although it is still a long way to go, I devote every effort to the pursuit of my dream.

Rome Was Not Built In a Day – My Personality
I am an independent person. Since my parents divorced when I was twenty years old, I have got a sense of responsibility to give my younger sisters and both of my parents a better life. Studying in a place away far from my hometown, I have learned to organize my life so well that my parents never worry about my studies, livelihood and relationship. If I have the honor to become a student of Czech Technical University in Prague, I am confident that I am able to manage my life and study there. Because I am heartily in love with leaning English as well as knowing western customs, I would like to use language proficiently. Therefore, I chose many practical English learning classes in order to acquire many functional skills. In those classes, I also found myself addicted to many other cultures. For instance, one of those classes provides us with a lot of foreign information by watching CNN or BBC. With that, I enjoy absorb different foreign cultures and widen my field of vision.

Art Is Long, Life Is Short – My Talents and Skills
I have developed lots of talents and skills since I was a child. When I was in primary school, I joined the school basketball, tug-of-war, and track-and-field teams. And I was also a member of the school chorus. I enjoy taking part in various kinds of activities and trying new things. Besides the sports events, I’ve learned piano for more than ten years and can play guitar. In high school, I participated in the basketball and chorus clubs. In addition, I was a student of English Talent Class. I had participated in many English competitions. For example, I have got the second prize in the school speech competition and I was recommended to attend the city speech competition. By those experiences, I am not afraid of facing any difficulties in any circumstances. Instead, I will overcome those obstacles before they get worse.
After entering the university, I have become a member of the department volley ball team. By engaging in these activities, I learn not only the special kills in certain fields but also know how to get along with people. Nowadays, I believe that although academic studies are important, learning more useful skills and get information relevant to our daily life is even more important.

Little By Little and Bit By Bit – My Enthusiasm about Languages Learning
I use three languages to talk with my family members. I speak Mandarin with my sisters, Taiwanese with my dad and Hakka with my mom. Since my father is a businessman, I often go abroad with him. So I can speak a little Cantonese and Szechuan in my adolescence. As for my interest in English, I think it is because that I luckily met a Canadian teacher. He is strict to me and teaches me English in a really different way. For instance, he lets me read famous English novels and watch classical movies such as Gone with the Wind, My Fair Lady, Pride and Prejudice, and so on. I can learn the conversations and pronunciations from these western movies and also obtain a lot of interesting and useful knowledge that isn’t taught at school. Besides, I learn Japanese from Japanese soap operas by myself. It demonstrates that I do have the talent to learn a language, and I’m sure I have a great interest in it. In the university, I also choose Japanese and French classes in order to learn more useful languages. If I have a chance to enter Czech Technical University in Prague, I have another valuable chance to learn different culture. That will absolutely enrich my life.

Where There Is a Will, There Is a Way
I am an outgoing person and can always stick to my dream. To me, English has become part of my daily life rather than merely a school subject. I regard Chung Hsing University as my ideal place to improve my English skills as well as to explore foreign cultures. This world has been globalizing and I will certainly be part of this international system after graduating from college. I do need to have correct and sharp world views. Thus I expect the Czech Technical University in Prague to enlarge my vision and enhance my knowledge. In short, I'm firmly convinced that the Czech Technical University in Prague is definitely the most desirable choice I have ever made.
